A trip down to Temasek Polytechnic, I thought it was going to be yet another boring thing that my sister had asked me accompany her to. But, in fact it was… a wonderful and exciting experience! ..I got to meet my future boss, Chef Eric Neo! (My dream is to work in the kitchen of Crowne Plaza Hotel!) And also got to meet the future me! HOHOHO *winks* I have a new idol~ <3 Nicole.

So... let's start with a little introduction of the Singapore's National Culinary Team.

Team managed by Eric Neo – Executive Chef of Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, followed by team captain Douglas Tay – Sous Chef of Equinox Resaurant and members, Jeffery Siew – Executive Sous Chef of Marina Mandarin, Yew Eng Tong – Sous Chef of The Cannery, Kong Kok Kiang – Senior Sous Chef of Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, and Nicole Wong – Pastry Chef of Fairmont Hotel.

They are now prepared for the battle at WA Oceanafest 2009, that will be awaiting for them in Perth on March 22 to 24!

Random: How I wish to have a Dad like Chef Eric Neo or at least a great chef. He could make me yummy lunchboxes everyday. I’ll be a well fed little girl. Ohwait.. I’m still very well fed without a chef dad.. note to self: not this size for nothing! ok.. back to the topic. XD

Oceanafest is hosted once every 2years. Back in 2007, Singapore manage to bring home the trophy, making us all proud. Hopefully they will be able to defend the title once more. Fingers crossed!

They will be preparing a 3-course meal:

Terrine of Fruits De Mer
Compression of Pickled Watermelon
Apple Celery Espuma

Hazelnut Xocopili Lamb Rack and Gateau of Braised Lamb Shank
Creamed Salsify, Orange – Sweet Potato Mousseline
Sauce Marjoram

Warm Zesty Almond Fondant
Mint Parfait with Raspberry and Frozen Exotic Coulis

They had given us the privilege to have a sneak peak at their fine work, and even a taste of one of the dishes.. which is the first of the 3 dishes listed above. It was delicious, but not something I will crave for. I didn’t like the gelatin and not a fan for celery. But the watermelon tasted so sweet! YUMMY!

The team will have to whipped up and present 88 portions of this delicate 3-course meal within the given time of 4hours. Each of the 88 portions, 1 will be randomly given to the judges, therefore they need to make sure every plate is as perfect as possible. Time is of the essence!

All this excitement almost (just almost!) made me forgot about the commotion at the kitchen below.

Ohh.. but before I get to that part, I just felt like telling a funny thing that happen that day. So… here goes!

Sis and I was mistaken as the polytechnic’s student that’s why the “PR” didn’t bother about us, till the “PR” realise the ‘Gadget3′ tag thingy hanging on dummie sister’s neck (which took almost an hour for them to realise). Actually.. this is not very funny.. and it’s not suprising for anyone to mistake me as a poly student, cause if I didn’t drop out of school it should be the last year of poly for me. So… the jokes on my moo moo sister! at least.. I think she doesn’t really like being think off as a student, so by writing this it will annoy her! KEKEKE. (but seriously.. isn’t it a good thing to be young?)

So.. all the hustle and bussle below was.. because of the 8 teams from the Singapore Junior Chef Club, having a cooking competition. Obviously competition means competing for something right? and that something is.. the grand prize, that includes not only a trophy (that indicates the word CHAMPION) but a sponsored trip to Perth with the Singapore National Culinary team and to partake in the Oceanafest 2009!

The second prize was a knife set worth $600 (I WANT I WANT~ T-T) and third prize, some cooking related books worth $400.

The day has to end, and it ended with a $12,000 cheque presented to the Singapore National Culinary Team by its sponsor, Nestle Professional.

The Junior Chefs had all when home a winner.. I, in the other hand when home with mixed feelings of envy (more like jealousy =x), but inspired! Then again.. I wasn’t allowed to go home yet, had to accompany moo moo sister to the next event which make me “zZzZzzz.”

Didn’t know it would be such a big impact. I don’t know who to turn to anymore. Maybe blogging will help me stop thinking so much?

Trying hard to put on a happy face, seems to be getting harder day by day. Making decisions feels so difficult. I just wish you were here to tell me what to do. Is there someone out there that could understand me like you do?

I don’t know what to think. I just want to sleep all day long. If I could go into a coma then I won’t need to think? This feels like a nightmare, I feel miserable.

Knowingly pushing people away from me. Deep down, I really want them to stay by me. But I didn’t want them to get too close, to a point where they might one day replace you. I’m afraid to get erased from your memory. I guess you are really just that important to me.

I feel so lost without you around. I can’t think. I don’t even know how I should react.. I really just miss you alot and you’re only gone for 2days. How can I survive without you for 3years?

But I’m happy that you can fulfill your dreams to go Australia and continue your studies. I just wish I could be there with you. I think it will take awhile before I can get used to your disappearence. But I’ll try to move on. It’ll take a long time before I can mend up this emptiness? 13years of friendship is hard to let go.. not that I’m exactly letting go. I can fly there anytime yea! *Remind to self to renew passport*

Been neglecting my babies so much lately! I feel so mean.. I’m so sorry Mika! I won’t leave you at a corner anymore!

So.. yesterday I finally did the little surgery on her. Mika must have suffered alot with that broken hand. T-T; Her obitsu is a little peachy compared to her head, but almost unoticable unless under bright light.

She looks happy with her new hands! ^^; I love obitsu’s! It can pose so much better.

I still have 2 more obitsu ready for my other girls! I should adopt taeyangs.. I need to find a date for the ladies! they are going to be lonely this valentines.

Her Sugarmag outfit finally came too! I wanted to let her stay in her stock outfit but it stained the obitsu body.. so she’s never going to wear that again! She needs a pair of pretty boots now. I love her stock wig though! never going to replace that!

I’m going to buy more clothings for her… for all of them! It’s sad that I can’t sew. I want to learn!

Thanks dummie sister for bringing me along to witness the release of my dream phone, the LG Prada II. and thanks for coming to pick me up all the way from home! It’s so nice to have a sister like you. (:

LG Prada II caught my eyes months back, while I was browsing the internet. The moment I saw this phone, I told myself, I finally found my dream phone! Must have must have! So.. I’ve been waiting for it’s release ever since!

Question: What can you find in a big, pretty and black room at a six star hotel?
Answer: Hot models standing next to a set of phone & watch by the sides of the room, cameras that’s busy taking pictures non stop while people asking questions and some others getting ready for that afternoon’s main event, the press conference.

First look at my dream phone up close in person “Oh my.. it’s so pretty.. I’m… scare… to… touch… it…” HAHA. Yes! It’s quite stupid, I know! Well, I was afraid I might accidentally drop it or something. It looked so classy, expensive and fragile! So, I decided to wait till my sister bring it home then I’ll explore it!

It look somewhat alike from the first Prada, difference was the slide out QWERTY keyboard, which is the main reason why I love Prada II. I wanted a simple looking phone with a slide out keyboard and a touch of elegance in it.

Prada Link was also introduced to us, a watch/accessory that can be linked to the phone. You’ll be able to see who’s calling and read smses through it. Comes in handy when you’re at a meeting or maybe in a rush? The watch is a little big in my opinion, but I understand that it has to be that size or how are you going to read messages? So, I think people are only going to buy that to link it to the phone. Which is the main use for it anyway.

Price at USD$850 for the LG Prada II and a little lesser than half of the phone for Prada Link. It’s expensive for little people like me, but considering they are targetting this to the high-end market, it’s rather inexpensive. It’s PRADA afterall!

So… something random. I overhead people at the event saying that LG invited bloggers from Hongkong to come for this event and was fully sponsered by LG and they were staying at the hotel, St Regis, six-star hotel which cost from US$479 per night. Was it true? if it was.. all I have to say is…… I’m jealous! How lucky of them!

Another experience to install into my little brain, and another thank to my sister for helping me open up to this big big world. Even though I am still very shy and anti-social, I have to live up to my name “Shy-Nessa” ya! Kekeke.. XD

I watched abit of this video on ET this morning and I thought to myself this is funny stuff! ..Let’s go on YouTube to find the full video! So I found it, sooo let’s laugh. HAHAHAHA.

And after a good laugh, I spy a link to this video.. which make me go “Wow… sooo cool!”

While every obsessed gamer is out there searching for a new high-end graphics game. I’m moving back to the past, I’m here downloading the very first game that made me fell in love with MMORPGS… I’m going back to… Lineage! NOT ’2′ but just Lineage! (Not live, will be on a private server)

Not much of a suprise. I’ve already return to the world of Lineage, 3 times last year. I promised myself 3months ago that I’ll never think of it ever again. But at this moment, I’m downloading it. At least I’m not going back to the live server.

Lineage is a 2D MMORPG that was released back in 1998 by NCSoft (I joined it during 1999-2000). You can pick up to 5 classes, Prince/Princess (the only class that can start a pledge/guild/clan), Dark Elf, Elf, Mage and Knight. Hmm.. actually, it’s nothing special, it’s just another MMORPG. Lineage just caught my eye when I saw that you could have pet dogs!

I played Lineage for 4years till Lineage II came in 2004. But that wasn’t the end of my beloved 2D game, in between I still had the cravings to go back (and I did). It was probably the community that made it so addictive and fun! I’ve met so many people around the world, they had even came to Singapore just to meet me and of cause, I still keep in contact with them. Or it could have been that exciting moment every week, where you collect many enchant scrolls to over-enchant items! Or maybe it’s the castle siege, where you fight to have your prince/princess and bloodpledge name on the npc chat screen, and your prince/princess having that little turning crown on their heads. Whatever it is, there’s always something you can do in Lineage!

I wonder what will my sister and boyfriend do when they find out I’m officially taking a break from World of Warcraft. But I had enough of that game. I won’t go back till new instance/raid comes.
