  Motivate me.
  Category: Shynessa Loves

God created a reason for me.

But.

I support myself towards the miracle.

Nothing is impossible.

Try harder, harder and harder!

NEVER give up.

No ones gonna pity you.

Only you can pick yourself up.

If you fall, try again.

And if it hurts, you cry, you scream.

But you don’t stop trying.

So, FUCK THEM ALL AND LIVE LIFE THE WAY YOU LIKE.

“I want this HP designer Laptop because…”
  Category: Shynessa Loves

I was never a fan for flowery things until I saw the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition Laptop. This laptop brings out a very classic feminine charm that is simply irresistible!

Not only does the appearance look gorgoeus! You will be astonish to know that it allows you to play World of Warcraft (WoW) too! Below is the YouTube video someone made:

It felt like a dream come true as I am an obsessive WoW player. I love playing MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) alot. However, MMORPG requires alot of time, and with the need to go out often, time just forbids me to play as much as I would like to. Having this laptop would be great! Due to it’s portability, I’ll be able to bring it around with me and connect to my game as and when I please.

Unlike the plain edition HP Mini 1000, the VT one doesn’t require any sort of a make over as it is very much blink-ed up already.

You want power, it has power. You want beauty it is already at its peak – designed by Vivienne Tam. Here’s a short introduction of the designer:

Vivienne Tam (譚燕玉, pinyin: Tán Yànyù) is a fashion designer based in New York. She was born in Guangzhou, China, but moved to Hong Kong at the age of three. She attended Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Her clothing brand is named after her and is inspired by Chinese design and modern fashion. The theme of first collection was EAST WIND CODE. Her shops can be found in most major cities around the world.

- Wikipedia

With Vivienne Tam as the designer, needless to say, this mini laptop will attract the attention of many. And playing WoW on it would definitely impress them all.

Who would have thought that such beauty and power can be combined into one tiny machine. If I was working or could afford it, I won’t hesitate to purchase it! Unfortunately as a student, it is beyond my capability.

Sadly, I missed out on the opportunity to get the HP Mini 1000 during a StarHub promotion (the black one). It felt like fate knocking on my door when I chanced upon this contest!

Restaurant of Champions, Oceanafest 2009. Goodluck Team Singapore!
Category: Food is Loves, Shynessa Loves

A trip down to Temasek Polytechnic, I thought it was going to be yet another boring thing that my sister had asked me accompany her to. But, in fact it was… a wonderful and exciting experience! ..I got to meet my future boss, Chef Eric Neo! (My dream is to work in the kitchen of Crowne Plaza Hotel!) And also got to meet the future me! HOHOHO *winks* I have a new idol~ <3 Nicole.

So... let's start with a little introduction of the Singapore's National Culinary Team.

Team managed by Eric Neo – Executive Chef of Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, followed by team captain Douglas Tay – Sous Chef of Equinox Resaurant and members, Jeffery Siew – Executive Sous Chef of Marina Mandarin, Yew Eng Tong – Sous Chef of The Cannery, Kong Kok Kiang – Senior Sous Chef of Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, and Nicole Wong – Pastry Chef of Fairmont Hotel.

They are now prepared for the battle at WA Oceanafest 2009, that will be awaiting for them in Perth on March 22 to 24!

Random: How I wish to have a Dad like Chef Eric Neo or at least a great chef. He could make me yummy lunchboxes everyday. I’ll be a well fed little girl. Ohwait.. I’m still very well fed without a chef dad.. note to self: not this size for nothing! ok.. back to the topic. XD

Oceanafest is hosted once every 2years. Back in 2007, Singapore manage to bring home the trophy, making us all proud. Hopefully they will be able to defend the title once more. Fingers crossed!

They will be preparing a 3-course meal:

Terrine of Fruits De Mer
Compression of Pickled Watermelon
Apple Celery Espuma
+
Hazelnut Xocopili Lamb Rack and Gateau of Braised Lamb Shank
Creamed Salsify, Orange – Sweet Potato Mousseline
Sauce Marjoram
+
Warm Zesty Almond Fondant
Mint Parfait with Raspberry and Frozen Exotic Coulis

They had given us the privilege to have a sneak peak at their fine work, and even a taste of one of the dishes.. which is the first of the 3 dishes listed above. It was delicious, but not something I will crave for. I didn’t like the gelatin and not a fan for celery. But the watermelon tasted so sweet! YUMMY!

The team will have to whipped up and present 88 portions of this delicate 3-course meal within the given time of 4hours. Each of the 88 portions, 1 will be randomly given to the judges, therefore they need to make sure every plate is as perfect as possible. Time is of the essence!

All this excitement almost (just almost!) made me forgot about the commotion at the kitchen below.

Ohh.. but before I get to that part, I just felt like telling a funny thing that happen that day. So… here goes!

Sis and I was mistaken as the polytechnic’s student that’s why the “PR” didn’t bother about us, till the “PR” realise the ‘Gadget3′ tag thingy hanging on dummie sister’s neck (which took almost an hour for them to realise). Actually.. this is not very funny.. and it’s not suprising for anyone to mistake me as a poly student, cause if I didn’t drop out of school it should be the last year of poly for me. So… the jokes on my moo moo sister! at least.. I think she doesn’t really like being think off as a student, so by writing this it will annoy her! KEKEKE. (but seriously.. isn’t it a good thing to be young?)

Let’s continue.

So.. all the hustle and bussle below was.. because of the 8 teams from the Singapore Junior Chef Club, having a cooking competition. Obviously competition means competing for something right? and that something is.. the grand prize, that includes not only a trophy (that indicates the word CHAMPION) but a sponsored trip to Perth with the Singapore National Culinary team and to partake in the Oceanafest 2009!

The second prize was a knife set worth $600 (I WANT I WANT~ T-T) and third prize, some cooking related books worth $400.

Let’s all open our eyes big big! like this.. >> (O_O)

The day has to end, and it ended with a $12,000 cheque presented to the Singapore National Culinary Team by its sponsor, Nestle Professional.

The Junior Chefs had all when home a winner.. I, in the other hand when home with mixed feelings of envy (more like jealousy =x), but inspired! Then again.. I wasn’t allowed to go home yet, had to accompany moo moo sister to the next event which make me “zZzZzzz.”

Note: I’ve blogged this topic @ Gadget3.com! too bad it’s not on the main page yet.

  Phillips BTM630 Micro Hi-Fi System
  Category: Gadget Reviews, Shynessa Loves

Afew days ago, BTM630 Micro Hi-Fi System came in a box and was placed by my bed when I was asleep. I woke up wondering who had place this pretty Hi-Fi system next to me.. It must be Santa Claus! I thought. When I started getting excited that Santa might really exist.. I hear a voice saying, “GO BLOG!” ..Tears could almost fall out of my eyes, just almost. Sabrina had just shattered my hopes of Santa’s existence, what a great way to kill a kid’s morales. (I’m just 10years old! ..(mentality?) trying to live in the past! Don’t spoil it.)

To compensate me of my cheated feelings.. I’ve decided to use this Hi-Fi system as a tool to annoy Sabrina, blasting punk genre music all day long whenever she’s at home. Muahaha!

Ok.. serious time.

When I was first introduced to Phillip’s BTM630 Micro Hi-Fi System at, Philips “Indulge Your Senses” Blogger Event. I thought to myself, Wow.. what a brain-cracking device with many functions. But when I actually have it now, I realise.. It’s very simple to use, a button for each fuction.

Although it might look heavy, its really quite light in weight, I could lift it up with one hand. Measurings at 390 mm (width) x 140.5 mm (height) x 200.5 mm (depth), I won’t say that it’s small, rather, it’s just like any average size Hi-Fi System. BTM630 gives an elegant feel, you would probably think it’s a very expensive set.. Truth is, it’s only retailing at SGD$329.

Music quality of BTM630 is good, doesn’t give you that irritating sharp piercing sound even when you play punk rock genre at full blast, it doesn’t feel loud but you can hear the sound clearly. (Ahh snap! I can’t annoy my sister with it then)

Philip’s seems to like giving most of their music system the Bluetooth capability. No suprise, BTM630 has this function too. I’m guessing they are aiming to market this to working class people, beacuse I see alot of business people using bluetooth. This function would probably attract those people. Who else will want to use a Hi-Fi to answer calls?

Then again, I always get phone calls when playing World of Warcraft, which means my hands are busy on the mouse and keyboard and I dont have a third hand to hold the phone, I hate putting on the earpiece and my loudspeaker function on the phone is useless.. this would be a great way to answer calls for me from now onwards! Goodbye painful neck!

  Sglenses.blogspot.com = WORSE blogshop EVER.
  Category: Shynessa Loves

I’ve been doing online shopping for over a year now.. Ebay, Blogshops, AMAZON, Etsy etc.. & I’ve NEVER complain about the sellers. Besides just this one! … ALL feedbacks I’ve left for any online site that I’ve shop at, I’ve always given positive remarks.

Even when things are faulty and not alike from description, I do not complain. Even if I paid overpriced items, I do not complain. Why? Simply because its my own free will to have bought their stuff, they didn’t take a knife and force me to buy. Most importantly they are all polite, therefore I respect them for they have respected me. So I do not bother to push matters further.

BESIDES THIS ONE. SGLENSES.BLOGSPOT.COM …I’ve finally encounter an online shop that makes online shopping a horrible experience.

The only reason why I even bought from this shop was because my sister (Sabrina) introduced it to me. Which I completely REGRET buying from this idiot.

I didn’t really give a shit. But that person just replied me with a rude/sarcastic email. so.. its bitching time.

Seller is impolite, before recieving money pretend to be nice.. once recieved money becomes mean. Irresponsible, sarcastic.. just plain rude! ..Then again maybe it’s because Singaporeans are like that? Meh. I detest being Singaporean myself, with this sort of people being in my country.. such disgrace. (Sorry, no offence.)

“Lowest Price of Contact Lenses in Singapore” = A LIE. My sister have introduced me another blogshop with EVEN CHEAPER Lenses.

Even cheaper, even more untrustable? Could be fake? Get real. How safe you expect cheap stuff to be? Your buying online to get something cheap, so.. cheaper the better. wanna play safe? Go to your optician. If you were meant to go blind, you will even if you bought authentic lenses.

“When will my lenses arrive when I order? 3 weeks after confirmation of entire batch order and payment with Geo” = Be prepared to wait at least 2months. (I am sure that they have send out orders to GEO 2-3days after I’ve made my order.)

When I emailed asking, when will I recieve my orders (4weeks after paying & I only emailed them because I’ve saw on their site that they have send out emails to buyers of that batch spree, and I’ve not recieved a single email)

Another strange thing, after they had reply me.. I then check their site again.. and they had change the batch status to “Have not arrived”.

.. they did not reply me till almost another week. And only said 2 words “not yet~” didn’t even bother to apologise for letting me wait. Uneducated or really just a small kid? I’m a drop out and yet I know that you should be polite to your customers. Ever heard of “Customers are always right.” Obviously, I wanted a proper reply.. example “Sorry, it has not arrived yet. We will inform you when it does.” Do you have some english problem and not know how to write a short proper sentence? (Not that my english is very good, I’m afterall a drop out.) Go back to school. Obviously need it. (This is coming from a drop out student)

C’mon.. you’re earning people’s money, at least show some simple respect and not be sarcastic.
If we (the customers) didn’t buy from you (sglenses.blogspot.com).. there will be no sglenses.blogspot.com. Learn to be nicer to us.

$60 isnt a big amount of money, I wouldn’t care less if you’re out to cheat me. But I can’t stand the fact of people earning my money and being impolite to me. I rather throw the money into the drain then give this type of people!!!

*SLAPS SELF, GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!! MONEY HARD TO EARN!!*

I mean.. I would’ve rather donate it to clarity or.. buy a new wig for my doll or.. some new clothes or even new eyechips.

So…

I ordered on 10 November. And till today, 22 December.. I’ve not recieved my lenses.. bad enough, they just asked me to wait another 2weeks (making things even worse, they took a week to tell me that.)

Screw this. I’m going to a proper optical shop to buy daily contacts instead.

SA5245BT – Philips 4GB GoGear Flash video audio player
  Category: Shynessa Loves

My sister gave me this new toy to play with and at the same time to review it. It’s always fun to have new gadgets to explore! Thanks Jiejie for giving me something to do when World of Warcraft is down. HA!

So.. I’m here to talk.. or rather write about this Video/Audio Player.

It’s selling at Amazon.com @ USD$129.99 (about SGD$190)
I’ve also seen it at Courts @ SGD$249
Probably could get it at a even cheaper price, I’ve not done a proper check on this.

If you don’t need the Bluetooth feature, there’s the same design, GoGear SA5245. It’s a little cheaper (like $30~40? cheaper). But.. if you’re getting this player it’s probably because of the Bluetooth connection.. It’s quite pointless without it.

What I like about this player..

The inbulit Bluetooth connection is a plus point!

It’s very user friendly! As alot of us know, most people can’t be bothered to read manuals (I never do). This player doesn’t crack your brains at all. Unlike IPods which took me awhile to figure out how to upload stuff into. You will only need to plug GoGear SA5245BT into your PC then copy and drag files into it, just like a flashdrive!

The sound is very clear, as good as my beloved IPod. Probably isn’t better, only because I’ve got a very good earpiece for my IPod.
The earpiece I have with the GoGear player is good too. I’m not sure if it comes with the player though, probably does. My sister only passed me the player without the box, so I don’t know.
But if it does come with it.. that’s another plus point!

Unlike my IPod, GoGear SA5245BT has a inbuilt FM Radio and it is very clear. 98.7FM has been my bestfriend for the past few days ever since I gotten this player!

What I dislike about this player..

I’ll probably only use it as a Mp3 player, so I would rather have something small (like the GoGear 2GB Mp3 Player) because I have a PSP to watch videos on and I can bring afew memory cards around, so I won’t be lack of memory space for more videos. GoGear SA5245BT only has 4GB in it.. and videos are usually quite big files, so I won’t be able to put many videos in it and even if I do, I won’t have space for my music. But then again, not everyone have a PSP & Memory cards don’t come free.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • 2.8″ QVGA LCD color display
  • FM Radio Tuner
  • Bluetooth connection
  • FM & voice recording function
  • FullSound™ for enhanced MP3 sound quality

  • Still Picture Playback (Resolution: 320 x 240 pixels) (JPEG, BMP)

Philips Bloggers Event @ Scarlet Hotel.
      Category: Gadget Reviews, Shynessa Loves

Honestly, I when for the freebies, cause Jiejie said there was gonna be a free mp3 player. (What? My boyfriend needed a mp3 player. He keeps stealing my IPod.)

But, It ended up to be fun! I got to sit in a Limousine which I’m still wondering why they plan that. But was a cute idea!

Doesn’t it feel soooo luxurious? JEALOUS? YAPYAP!

The food at the hotel was really really yummy, I probably enjoyed that the most throughout the whole event. *FOOD!!!! YUM YUM YUM* Even though it was just snacks! It was already good!

I’m going back to that hotel soon to stay for a night and order lotsa room service food then cry after that cause the bill will be a bomb! YAY! I’m starving for moreeee.

    *Continues eating*

I was happily munching my food went suddenly.. a noisy person started talking. He was presenting to us.. Philip’s new LCD flat TV! which I think was the main thing in the event?

    Philips 42PFL9803H.

To someone that plays games and watches TV alot (that’s me!).. A good monitor would be your key ingredient!

Honestly, I wasn’t really listening to the guy that was yapping away. But at least it made me stop eating and stare at the gorgeous TV.. that I was gonna get one day to play my Xbox, WII & PC games on.. It’ll look MAD! I wanna get it now to play World of Warcraft on it!!

Compare this to the current LCDTV’s we have now, the Philips 42PFL9803H is much clearer. I don’t know how to explain it. But using my eyes and not my ears to listen what’s in this TV. The pictures on it looks really sharp. It almost feels real. Picture Perfect!

Wanna know more about this really cool looking television? Why bother asking a idiot that cares only about food? Visit your local stores to find out. (not sure if it’s selling yet though?)

Next we have.. BTM630 Micro Hi-Fi System. They were introducing this to us and I remembered seeing it somewhere before.

Someone in the event actually asked for the price for it, but the person presenting it didn’t even know it? So, last night.. I found it listed in a magazine Courts had send to my house.

SGD$329 Acceptable price for what it can do. For me, I would rather have something simple to use. But if you like lotsa funtions all in one, this could be your future IPod speakers!

So.. That’s about it.. I wasn’t interested in the other stuff during this event. Mostly just LOVE the FOOD and the LCDTV of cause!

Ohya, inside the goodie bag is the Philips GoGear 2GB mp3 player. It’s so small & the radio is super clear! Not bad for something thats free! Almost wanted to keep for myself and not give to my Mister Boyfriend. TOO BAD, he snatched it! You can get it at BEST Connections for SGD$99, and probably many other places.

Thanks Princessa, my dear sister for inviting me to this event and whoever else which I was suppose to thank.. Thanks for welcoming me!

Invite me for more events that have food serving in them okay?! But don’t bother putting me in the pictures. I’ll waste your camera space and spoil the pictures.

MY Mercedes NINJA-ed SG Ferrari couple
      Category: Shynessa Loves

I read a post at TheMediaSlut about a Singaporean couple in a Ferrari getting robbed in Malaysia by some fake custom officers in a Mercedes along the North-South Highway.

I find those Singaporeans stupid, if it was at night I would understand. But it was daylight? Why would you even open doors to people that claim to be officers when they are in a Mercedes? I thought authorities usually have their own special cars? Maybe Malaysia is different? hmm..

Come to think about it.. In Malaysia, bribing is a common thing. Maybe the couples thought they gotten into some kind of serious trouble or hiding something, and so decided to resort into bribing the custom officers. But after they had left, finally realised they were stupid and those were not real authorities. So they changed the story into being robbed?

Keke.. yes yes my imagination like to run wild and sometimes not very realistic.

What strange people. Drive Mercedes still rob people. Well, I guess the Mercedes was stolen too. OR! Maybe they were bored? Boredom can lead to many strange actions.. I should know! HAHA
